Slow or eliminate the effects of ageing with regular facial aesthetics.
Our Facial Aesthetic Treatments
Facial aesthetics are non-surgical ways to make cosmetic improvements to your face, with the aim of increasing vitality and reversing the effects of ageing, and at Brilliant Dental Care we do this with Dermal Fillers and, where suitable after a consultation, anti-wrinkle injections.
You may wonder why ‘beauty’ treatments are available at a dental practice: in fact, dentists are more qualified than any other practitioners to do this work because they are clinically trained to hospital standards, are the most experienced at facial injections, and study the face for their entire careers.
In short, being an expert in how the face looks and functions goes with the territory of being a dentist.
Brilliant Dental Care our aim is to accentuate the natural features of your face, and so we never endorse the so-called “frozen face” outcome you often see celebrities with – our idea of success is having your friends say, “You look well!” rather than, “Have you had some work done?”
We always begin by asking you what kind of makeover results you want to achieve, then make a detailed study of your face before making a treatment plan that could include anti-wrinkle injections, Dermal Fillers and tooth whitening.
You have to really study the face to find which treatment is appropriate – some lines are endearing although some lines are not complementary and they are the ones we try to soften or take away.
Crease lines and wrinkles such as crow’s feet and frown lines are part of the natural maturing process caused by a combination of aging, sun damage and the movement of muscles in facial expressions.
Anti-wrinkle injections of Botulinum Toxin Type A (commonly known by the trade name Botox) is a prescription only medicine and can only be used where appropriate following a consultation for lines and wrinkles. It has been used by doctors for 20 years to treat facial tics and muscle spasms, is administered by a tiny injection and stops your nerves from sending messages to activate the muscle. This means that the overlying skin stays smoother and creases gradually diminish.
Treatment lasts on average for four months and it takes up to two weeks to see the full results, although some results are evident within four to eight hours.
Dermal Fillers can be used to plump out the facial lines and increase the volume and hydration of the skin. They are used particularly to soften the lines around the mouth and chin area and for enhancing the shape and volume of the lips. These types of fillers are non-permanent, lasting from three to nine months.
We believe the frame around your smile is just as important as the smile itself, and that’s why we’d love to help you slow down or potentially eliminate the effects of ageing with a regular Facial Rejuvenation makeover.
The effects are temporary, so they are a great introduction to cosmetic treatments if you have never had them done before and, performed regularly, these treatments will help to replenish the moisture in the skin and retrain the muscles of your face, preserving your youth and increasing your confidence.
